The client had selected a chip antenna based on the performance specifications in its datasheets. However, the chip antenna did not meet their performance expectations on the product. No one antenna can reliably be the best solution for a variety of products. Within 30 days, Field Theory was able to help the client by providing workable RF solutions. Additionally, Field Theory provided an RF solution, which reduced the overall product cost by $70 per unit. This helped the client save millions of dollars.

In another instance, Field Theory was contracted by a client whose OBD automotive device had many RF antenna performance issues (LTE-CAT4 with 3G fallback, GPS, and dual-band Wi-Fi, and BLE). Field Theory completed a study, which ultimately led to a new product with a 20% reduction in overall product size and significantly improved RF antenna performance.
